Troubleshooting

If you are having trouble with printing, please see the below known issues:

Authentication

Authentication on Linux and Mac requires authentication using the following format cornell\NetID

  • netid@cornell.edu does not work on Macintosh and Linux Machines.
  • If you used the netid@cornell.edu format and saved the credentials, you will need to delete the wrong credentials.
  • Deleting the wrong credentials
    • On Ubuntu if you need to change your saved credentials do the following:
      • Delete the pc-client.properties file in your home directory. (rm ~/pc-client.properties)
      • Open up the “Passwords and Keys” and search for the name of the printer that you have stored the credentials. Delete those credentials.
    • On Mac OS
      • Open the Keychain Access, and search for the name of the printer that you have stored the credentials. Delete those credentials
  • If you have recent changed your credentials, follow this link to reset them: Clear Your Net-Print Credentials

Printing Supplies

Printer is out of Supplies

  • If the any of the supplies are completely used on a printer/copier Netprint (Papercut) will delete all jobs that are being sent to the printer. Printing will resume when the supplies are replaced.

The Selected Size of Paper is not in the Chosen Printer

  • If a papersize is selected that is not in the printer, Netprint (Papercut) will delete the print job.
