The Windows Print server at IP address 184.108.40.206 (winprint1.coecis.cornell.edu) running Windows 2008, has reached its end of support and decommissioned on Mon 12/21/2020.
Please update your printer setup to connect to the new Windows Print Server, “winprint.coecis.cornell.edu”, as documented in https://it.coecis.cornell.edu/printers/
Facilities has informed us that the line crew needs to perform maintenance on the incoming electrical equipment.
This will entail loss of electric power to the Gates Hall on Dec 15th for approximately 3 hours between the hours of 7 and 11am.
You will be unable to access computers and services housed in Gates Hall during this time.
Both Gates G27 and 444 server rooms will be without power for the duration of the shutdown. As a result there will be an outage between 6am and 1pm.

At approximately 1:15 pm on 11/23/20 an unscheduled power outage caused an interruption for some IT services. In addition, computers and other devices may have shut down as a result.

Update: 8/24/2020 – 13:12: CIT Reports that ZOOM services are working normally.
ITSG has received multiple reports that the ZOOM service is reporting errors. Reports has been escalated to CIT ZOOM support.

Update: 7/28/2020 12:39 pm: Kayako help desk and other services are reporting back online, please let us know if you notice any problems.
A High temperature state in the Phillips 110 Data Center due to a chilled water repair is impacting services including the Kayako Help Desk, vCenter, ECE Lister Server, and others. ITSG is aware of the issue and addressing the situation. Once cooling is back online systems will be restored.
During this time you can still submit help requests via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by contacting your embedded staff via email.
On Monday July 27th between 5:00am and 8:00am EST, CIT Network Engineering will reboot most campus switches. Both wired and wireless connectivity will be unavailable for approximately 5-10 minutes as the switches reboot for Ithaca and Tech Campus users.

A fraudulent “phishing” email is circulating with the subject line of “New online course evaluations”, purporting to be from “Cornell University Instructional Support Staff” to solicit feedback about online course evaluations.
The email has a very genuine appearance, including a valid-looking link to a course evaluation survey. The link in the message does not actually point to the site that is shown in the text, but instead directs to a malicious phishing page in an attempt to harvest your Cornell username and password.
The Cornell IT Security Office is aware of this and has posted it to their “Phishbowl” page where known phishing emails that have been spotted at Cornell are collected. Details can be found at https://it.cornell.edu/phish/7830, or by Googling “Cornell Phish Bowl”, clicking on the top result which is likely to be “Phish Bowl | IT@Cornell”, and then clicking on “New online course evaluations”.
